Jon Fox Live in Tennessee

Jon Fox is an americana roots folk rock musician singer songwriter living in Tennessee (TN). He’s an accomplished live and session guitar player, but what sets him apart is his brutally honest lyrics. This is a true artist, writing true songs about life the way he sees it. Along with drummer Chuck Cotten, bassist Tyler Barringer, and Fox’s father, Dave Fox on keyboards, the music on his latest album elevates the already strong lyrics to a place where few songwriters can say they’ve taken their music.

Here’s what Jon has to say about himself:

Born and raised in Greensboro, N.C. Left at age 20 to spend a summer in Alaska and have never called Greensboro home since. I’ve been to every state except for Hawaii. I drove a big rig from coast to coast for short while, and for the past 5 years or so have only concentrated on making and performing music. I’ve lived in Austin, TX and Nashville, TN, but feel at home in the Southern Appalachians.

Featuring the guitar work of Tim Betts, the long time guitarist for CJ Chenier and The Red Hot Louisiana Band, Jon Fox’s sophomore album stands out as a masterpiece. Following in the tracks of great American songwriters such as Tom Petty and Steve Earle, Fox blazes his own path to glory with serious songs ranging from the topics of Mountaintop Coal Removal, to songs about hopping trains.

Crooked Wheels stands out as one of the most remarkable, and truly original albums to have come out in the Americana genre in quite sometime. Jon Fox is definitely an artist to keep an eye on.
